Purchase Energy-Efficient Appliances, Get A Rebate

ENERGY STAR Facts:

By purchasing appliances that have earned the Energy Star you can save $75 a year in energy costs, while saving the environment. You may also qualify for a $25 rebate from South River EMC. Your Cooperative is offering a $25 rebate for the purchase of a new Energy Star qualified electric clothes washer, refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher or programmable thermostat.

Save Energy, Save Money

When buying an appliance, remember that it has two important pieces of information: what you pay to purchase it and what you pay for the energy and water it uses. Energy Star qualified appliances incorporate advanced technologies that use 10–50% less energy and water than standard models. The money you save on your utility bills can more than make up for difference in price.

For top performance, premium features, and energy savings, look for energy-efficient clothes washers, refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers and programmable thermostats that have earned the Energy Star. This mark may appear on the appliance, the packaging or the EnergyGuide label.

Eligibility:

• You must receive electric service from South River EMC in your home.
• Rebates will be issued only for electric clothes washers, refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers and programmable thermostats that carry the Energy Star label with the Energy Star symbol.     
• The appliance must have been newly purchased in the 90 days preceding the application for rebate.
• Original receipt* and EnergyGuide label must accompany application.
• Once an application is received by South River EMC and processed, a $25 rebate check will be issued within 3-4 weeks.
• If an application is incomplete or does not include all required information, it will be denied and returned with an explanation.
• We cannot issue a rebate on items purchased under a contract such as, lease-to-own programs or rentals.
  * A copy of the receipt will be accepted with a written explanation as to why the original could not be sent (i.e. for warranty purposes, additional rebate from company, etc.)

Restrictions:

• Rebates are subject to change without notice.
• All rebates are subject to approval and are contingent upon fund availability.
